DentAlliance Logo

Challenge

DentAlliance is a historic alliance formed by four international universities: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, King’s College London, National University of Singapore and University of Melbourne. When DentAlliance first formed, they were using the logos of all four universities on their marketing materials, which was not ideal, and didn’t effectively promote this new partnership. They sought to create a logo that would represent DentAlliance as a whole, while also incorporating the brand of each individual university.

Result

UNC Creative developed a logo that positions DentAlliance as an innovative global partnership in dentistry. The repeated abstract tooth symbol is reminiscent of an infinity sign and represents the limitless nature of DentAlliance’s work. The symbol is shown four times in four different colors, one color for each partner university’s respective brand, in order to show equity among the universities. All four symbols are intertwined to form one cohesive circular mark that further conveys the global nature of DentAlliance. The mark is paired with a modern and sturdy sans serif to help communicate that the alliance is innovative, yet professional.

As part of the brand system, there are additional university-specific logo variations with the marks in 1-color that can be used when a more university-branded color palette is needed.
