Sounds Stilled Poster

Project Description

Sounds Stilled was an exhibit at Wilson Library that displayed the photographs of Don Sturkey. These photographs are part of the North Carolina Collection Photographic Archives in Wilson Library and highlight Sturkey’s photographic documentation of the North Carolina music scene over three decades. Many of the exhibit’s photographs featured musicians in the 1950s and 1960s. In order to capture the essence of the exhibit, the poster, created to advertise the event, highlighted some of the more famous musicians photographed, as well as emulated the design style of concert posters from that time period.
