Creative Strategy

Branding
Units within the University's branding and visual identity system don't all have to look the same. A sub-brand will help your unit have a unique identity within the University, while leveraging the reputation of Carolina’s brand to stand out against similar units across the country.
A brand helps tell your story, builds a connection and deepens recognition with your audience. Our brand guides define elements such as color, patterns, typography and overall aesthetic tone. They also provide suggestions on use and application of the brand across materials – providing you with the framework to create consistency across your materials.

Visual Design
Our print design capabilities are extensive, and range from such materials as postcards, flyers, brochures and posters, to annual reports and magazines. We give each piece a unique voice and a strong message, while maintaining the Carolina brand. For projects we design, we will also write the printing and mailing specifications, gather bids from our trusted printers, review proofs from the printers and ensure timely delivery and top-quality work. For jobs that require a formal bid through UNC Purchasing, we know the proper procedures involved and will handle that process for you as well.
Digital Design
We design custom websites and we will help to brand your online presence. We will strategize, plan and mock up a site that will work for your target audience and goals. We partner with ITS Digital Services on campus to develop websites that will then be hosted and supported on their infrastructure.
We also design digital presentations, announcements, animated gifs and social media assets.
Digital Publications
A digital publication is a piece that is specifically designed to be distributed and viewed online.
It is responsive to different screen sizes and devices; it includes rich media and interactive elements; and meets University accessibility guidelines. These pieces can be designed to mimic the experience of flipping through printed materials or structured like a microsite. The resulting digital publication can be a single page or a complex site with many pages. They look and feel modern, can be quickly updated as information changes and are a more cost-effective and sustainable long-term solution for sharing information.
