2020 Graduation Giphy Stickers
Challenge
May of 2020 was a challenging time for graduates across the country. After years of working toward completing their education, COVID-19 quickly and drastically changed their last weeks of school and their ability to participate in a traditional graduation ceremony. The University’s leadership wanted to honor and celebrate UNC’s class of 2020 through a set of custom GIFs that could adorn the photos and videos graduates shared of their celebrations at home and on social media.
Result
UNC Creative designed 10 GIFs using iconic campus colors and imagery associated with graduation or the University. We intentionally created a set of GIFs specifically for the class of 2020 while also throwing in some generic graduation and UNC-themed GIFs that can be enjoyed for years to come. We tried to create a variety of GIF styles to capture the many personalities, sentiments and celebrations of our wonderful graduating class and they were a hit! They have been viewed over 8.5 million times since their launch in May.
