Heels Care Network Brand

Project Description

The Heels Care Network was a newly established program aimed to provide students, faculty and staff with access to mental health and well-being resources at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. They approached UNC Creative to develop a new visual identity that would help raise mental health awareness and create a culture of care on campus.

Challenge

The brand needed to be accessible, professional and inviting for the entire Carolina community. Along with the visual identity, a suite of design materials for print and digital applications needed to be created.

Result

UNC Creative designed a new visual identity for the Heels Care Network, as well as a set of identity guidelines that would bring more awareness to the brand and establish a consistent look and feel across communications. The hand-drawn adaptation of the Tar Heel foot with the addition of an interlocking heart creates a sense of community and a feeling of safety, which sets the tone for the rest of the brand assets. Colors from the University’s official palette were incorporated to visually tie in with the rest of campus.

Additional elements, including illustrations, icons, animated stickers, social media templates, messaging and printed collateral, were created to strengthen the Heel Care Network’s brand presence across campus. Ultimately, the brand was able to reach more individuals and help create a culture of care and compassion within the UNC-Chapel Hill community.
